PGP Email Encryption With Gmail POP, GnuPG, Thunderbird & Enigmail

I was curious to see how this whole email encryption thing worked, so I decided to try it out for myself. Seems to work well, although I've only got myself to send encrypted emails to, so thought I might write up this quick guide.

Here's what you need:
Gmail
Thunderbird
GnuPG
Enigmail

So anyway, get all these.
Turn on POP access in your Gmail account.
Set up Thunderbird with pop.gmail.com port 995 SSL etc like they tell you.
Install the windows binary of GPG
Install the Enigmail entension in Thunderbird under the tools menu.

Under the OpenPGP Menu -> Preferences browse to the GPG executable.
OpenPGP -> Key Management -> Generate -> New Key Pair. Enter a good passphrase and Generate Key. Upload your key to the public keyserver if you want.
In Tools -> Account Settings -> OpenPGP Security. Enable OpenPGP Support.

That's it!
Now send me a secure email using my public key below so I can finally see if this actually works :)

Thanks, bye.
