The Traveller

I was a traveller once, deep space exploration. I journeyed far across the reaches of the galaxy, but then all of a sudden, it came to an end, the galaxy I mean. I just kept going off into the darkness, the milky way glow glistening away and slowly fading, until it seemed to be but another point of light amongst the many other millions, nothing special at all. Why would it be?

I continued on for a short while - a few thousand millennia or so - and was quite a distance from home. Turning around to see, I realised that the tiny spot of light I once called home was no longer discernable, its radiance lost and at that moment, I felt a sudden overwhelming fear come over me, but I could do nothing. I kept on travelling.

After a while, the decision to stop arose in my mind. I was to stop travelling and become stationary. This, as it happens, turns out to be a rather difficult proposition when travelling all alone, with no point of reference but yourself. I judged the best I could.

And then, sitting there, silent, floating, I guess I felt the slight pull of home, the smallest apprehension of gravity from so far away. I tried to concentrate some more in the darkness and to my surprise I felt, somewhere at the centre of my being, the ever so soft tug of earth, its molten core, its vast bodies of water, even the myriad animals and plants scattered on its surface. With all the more subtle concentration, I could feel the cells, the elements, the molecules, the atoms, until suddenly my head began to hurt and I stopped.

I looked around a little at the nothing surrounding me. Although there wasn't really much light, I could see, a short distance in front of me, there was an object, dark, small. It was floating slowly towards me or I was slowly floating towards it - I couldn't decide. And as it came closer, I watched as the familiar object took shape...

Hi again

As i don't have a digital camera, let alone a computer, I was wondering if someone could pls send me good pics of my thing last w'end and of Shans 21st and any other good pics :o) I want to put them on CD and then put them into Kodak to get hard copies, then go to Crazy Clarks to get some classic frames to put them in. they can be of anyone and anything. :o) pls pls pls pls it would be much appreciated.

Hey, decided to update my photos page with some shots from Shantell's 21st. I was playing around with a new layout and for some reason Internet Explorer doesn't recognise the cell padding around the images and other css things so it's best viewed with Firefox.

Shooting in Queen Street, New York

Before going to Muse on Sunday, Jerry and I were walking down queen street when we noticed a crowd of people standing around what seemed like a car accident, but something wasn't right. There were police everywhere blocking off traffic and pedestrians, so we decided to have a closer look. Jerry noticed that the number plates on the beat up cars had the words 'New York" on them.

Turns out they were shooting a scene from a movie apparently set in New York. We stayed to watch the five second take, then headed further down queen street, which was all blocked off to traffic and had a few New York yellow taxicabs parked on the side of the road.

John and Gabriel make a cute little family don't they. Scary that we are all growing up and children are a part of at least one of our lives. I remember John as a tiny little kid himself.

My mother flipped and was like - John? I've held him when he was that small!

I knew at 1am, straight after the family knew. I kinda went cool, and rolled over and went back to sleep...

A Darwin man told yesterday how his left arm was amputated after being bitten nine times by a deadly snake.

Gordon Lyons told said he almost died after his heart stopped three times on the operating table at Royal Darwin Hospital.

He spent seven weeks in a coma and was kept alive with a dialysis machine and ventilator after being a king brown bit his arm two months ago.

Mr Lyons, who has still not regained movement in his legs, said doctors revived him three times on the operating table.

He said, "I am lucky to be here right now. But I still can't believe my arm's been chopped off just for one snake. I still have my life and I guess that's the most important thing."

Mr Lyons said he was bitten by the snake, considered to be one of the most venemous, after he picked it up from the side of the road near Litchfield.

Mr Lyons, who admitted to being drunk at the time, said he and a mate had been driving fromMandorah to Darwin when they saw it.

He said, "I remembered the guys at Mandorah Pub wanted something to put in their huge fish tank. But I made the stupid mistake of grabbing it with my left hand because I was holding a beer in my right one. I had its head in my hand and it got loose and grabbed the web of my left hand - its fangs were that big it ripped my hand open. I tore it off me and put it in a plastic bag and threw it in the back of the car. For some stupid reason I stuck my hand back in the bag and it must have smelt blood, and it bit me another eight times."

Mr Lyons said he had began vomiting and suffering diarrhoea "about three seconds later".

He said, "My mate was trying to keep my awake by whacking me in the head and pouring beer on me."

Mr Lyons said his last memory was of passing out, covered in blood, at the Noonamah Hotel moments before being taken by Ambulance to the Royal Darwin Hospital.

RDH specialist physician said the venom has caused severe damage to Mr Lyons' muscles, which led to his left arm turning black and becoming 'dead'.

Mr Currie said, "Of all the snake bites in Australia that I'm aware of, this man is the sickest to have ever survived."

Shantell: im trying to make it to ur party, ive got a mates 19th down the coast but i think ill cancel on her cuz i wont be able to make it to both. im trying to get my friend Nik from work to come but he's too damn shy for his own good. wat did u want 4 ur bday?
i had a pretty good 4 day weekend. i saw sum old school mates thursday and hung out that nite then worked friday, went to the city and valley and botanical gardens fri nite. met a scottish dude called scotty. and a irish dude called douglas. and then worked sat then hung out sat nite then worked heaps on sunday and then drove all the way home. oh yeh, i gotted my car back but its pretty shitty fixit job. so theres a big fight going on with the insurance company. fun stuff. anyways, 10 days till im 18, 12 days till my party. not that im counting or anything! hehe cya ppls

Boredom

I'm sitting here at work, all alone, with nothing to do...................Get this - a co-worker, Doug, who I usually get on really well with, on Monday he got told (by me, passing on the message) that a lady didn't want HIM to value her house cause last time he under valued it, I arranged it so the boss John could do it. Right, no problem.......but poor Doug's ego was hurt and when I went to him later in the day to joke about it and ask him a question about why a job was two hours late (head office needed to know) he went OF HIS NUTT saying well it's only two hours late and besides if you (ie me) did your job properly we wouldn't have these problems and went on and on and on and of course hot headed me retaliated but keep myself under control and did not harass him I simply asked him not to shoot the messenger.........thing is I'm actually, for once, really good at my job, I come in an hour early every morning just to get things on peoples desk to sign early before they shoot through to do their jobs, my typing and knowledge is spot on and if i don't get something I ask, hell I must be good, when my side kick quit they decided they didn't need to replace her. So I haven't spoken a non-professional word to Doug since Monday afternood lol.....all i'm waiting for is an apology..........Sorry but I won't be his verbal punching bag AND I was (and still am) as sick as a dog.

Oh oh oh oh, Trav and I put our car in today cause the back sub-woofers (I'm a shocking speller) didn't work and a few other little things, they are wiring them in as I type and its free cause it's covered by warranty. I get to drive a Merceedes Benz around all day today lol (to work and home again wahoo) ok ok so it's a 1985 model but hey it's still a merc......I never thought a car like that could have less up and go then my gemini did lol it's shocking but nice to drive cause the seats have sheeps wool covers on them, and it's in damn good nick. The guy dropped it off last night and picked up our car and will be swapping them back tonight. Last night Trav took it driving (and we all know what he's like lol) he decided to test it out, it does awesome doughys, fishys etc lol hey it was fun and something we haven't done in ages.

Oh my god I am sooooooo boring, I can't wait to come to Brisbane again, we might be down this w'end so let us know what u r all up to (money's tight this week due to rego, electricity etc all coming in at once) so nothing toooo extravigant (I know spelling again, I'm going to suck at uni)

PS whats everyone up to? hows uni? hows work? hows life? how was the weekend? how was riverfire? and what movie did u end up seeing on Friday night? I WANT DETAILS PEOPLE lol sorry.

yesterday nat and i got these tamagotchis... cept we call them stupid tamagotchi's. There infrared so they can fall in love, get married and have babies... except the problem is it seems to be impossible to get females, like we reset the stupid things about 30times and they just keep coming up as males, so they just have to be gay.

Nats is called Baa, and mine is called Caa² cause it commited suicide last night.

There so stupid, they keep pooing, and the poos dance lol
