Poker Night - Friday 5th November

Hey all, I'm having another poker night on Friday the 5th of November from 6pm. The minimum buy in will be $15 dollars again. Everyone is welcome and you should bring your togs incase it's a hot night and you want to go for a swim.

Sorry about the lateness, but we are organising a dinner out before Kelly goes home. I have told her to keep Wednesday night free and that we are going to Toscani's at Chermside - you will probably need around $20 for food (and it is one bill per table so need small notes.) Will Sms today also.

Darwin Man puts his works in a spanner.

Fire brigade officers were forced to use bolt cutters to free a Darwin man's penis from a 19mm ring spanner, officials confirmed yesterday.

The man arrived at Royal Darwin Hospital in considerable pain on Monday night, a police spokesman said yesterday.

The man had apparently spent several hours at home trying to free himself, but was unsuccessful due to increasing swelling.

After several fruitless attempts to free himself from the vice-like spanner, doctors turned to the Casuarina Fire Brigade.

By this stage, the swelling of the man's member was so extreme that fire brigade officers were forced to use bolt cutters to hack the spanner off.

Police say the man was not seriously injured in the incident, but the spanner was a complete write-off.

A fire brigade officer who declined to be named, said yesterday that the fire officer who wielded the bolt cutters had been given a new nickname... Lord of the Rings.

NOVEMBER 7

Hi. just so that everyon knows - I will be expecting a few of you to turn up on November 7 to my house for a nutri-metics party. I know, I know, lame,lame, lame. But anyways, you don't need to buy anything and it will be fun - - you'll get food anyway.

Ok i could've sworn I posted a message about asking who wanted to actually come horse riding, but it doesnt seem to be there. I'll just have to post it again. It'll probably be the weekend of the 31st or the 7th. On the sunday. In the morning. And my sister will most probably be coming with us. So i need to know who definately wants to come so i can book it sometime in the next week or so.

weekend at trav & de place

Ok. Deanna asked me what’s going on with the weekend at their place. So we need to know who actually wants to go. I think we agreed on the weekend of 3rd, 4th, 5th dec. does this not suit ne one. We will go up on the Friday night and come home Sunday arvo. U will have to bring sleeping stuffs. Ie pillow and blankets, and will need money for food. We are gunna eat bbq dinners, and just buy breakfasts and lunches. Unless ne one wants to take their own food for them. I think we agreed that we will all put in for the bbq dinners. :) dunno how much just a % of how much we get when we get there. If that doesn’t suit ne one we can all just take our own bbq food as well.
About transport we will have to organize car pools. Marcus and I will borrow grahams car so we can take 3 ppl. So who needs transport? Who can help with transport?

Ok so to help me organize this thing please....

- say if Ur coming and if the dates are ok 4 u.
- say what way u want food organized. Group or individual.
- say if u can or cannot help with transport, or if u need transport.

Secret santa.

ok. we decided tonight that we would meet here at marcus parents house for a movie night eveyone is invited, but everyone intending to be involve in the secret santa must come to get a name. im also gunna call ppl just in case. the movie night will start at 6 we will do names when everyone is here. if this dosent aggree with anyone please tell me so we can arrange a different time. ok
and with the sizzler dinner in december. everyone is invited not just the secret santa ppl. :)

Open Minds

Found this site called the DOAJ a little while ago, which has been very useful and interesting. It has free journals on just about every conceivable topic.

Thought it might be helpful for those of you doing assignments at uni and stuff. Most of my lecturers loved to see a long list of referenced academic journals at the end of an essay. If I only knew about this site back then, I could have made the references and bibliography list span more pages than the assignment, hahaha keep 'em up all night cross checking them all.

Teaching

I have come to the conclusion that I like teaching. I like standing in front of the students and filling their empty minds with all my knowledge ;). No, no, that is not what happens. it is collaborative work, and the students already have knowledge of the world and the subject. I agree with this, but it seems rather wanky I think.

I hate however, the preparation. Too much work and not enough fun....

Camping

ok. katty and i were talking and we had a lot of fun at nats bday camp thingi so we were wondering if anyone wanted to do it again. maybe for a bit longer this time. same place cos it was fairly cheap. ill need the details from nat and ben. but we were thinking maybe in january so ppl who work can arrange hollidays or what eva it is that ppl with jobs do :)

Horse Riding

Me and ben went horse riding today. I will post the photo when I am home. Anyway, we're organising a group horse riding session. Its at Welcome Horse Riding, this is the website... www.welcome.net.au . Its $33 for an hour. They provide you with a helmet and boots. And they teach you the basics of riding and such like. It'll be on a sunday. Let me know if you are interested. Won't be for another month or so.

ok im bored of my hair. i need other ppls opnion. im not sure what to do whith my hair. should i leave it as it is and let it grow. should i dye it and let it grow. or should i cut is again back to one of the styles iv had it. or something else. what is a good style for me. im not sure. i need help. LOL. please give ur opnion of what hair style i look good in. :) 

cant they all just get along

grr im sick of stupid rival companies sabotaging eachother cause they cant get along.

i have to use macs at uni, so i usually burn my work onto a rewritable cd at home using my pc and then burn what ive done at uni with the mac, usually this works fine, and then if i wanna reburn the cd at home again i will have to format the cd cause pcs dont read mac formats. so from this i felt that pcs were just trying to take over the world and refused to even acknoledge other brands existance. but in reality pcs are trying to take over the world, but macs are just acting nice to get on your goodside before they turn around and show you their true side which is as nasty as pcs.

what happened? yesterday as i burnt my work onto my rewritable cd at uni as i always do, instead of burning the new work onto the cd it decided to format the bloody thing. i kinda realised something was wrong when i was at uni and the cd was empty so i burnt it 3x and it still was empty afterwards
